The Right to the City in Do The Right Thing

In COM 480 "Senior Capstone Project" class, I analyzed the right to the city theory from Lefebvre and Harvey perspective as represented in Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing (1989).

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the research design, the theoretical framework and the cinematic techniques used to determine who has the right to the city through the appropriation of space and art-media by applying semiotic, critical discourse, narrative and aesthetic analyses to Do The Right Thing.
